Interests: Research: Greek and Latin literature; transmission of Latin texts. Teaching: Greek and Latin literature. Publications: edition of Daphnis and Chloe, of Cicero's earliest speech, of Vegetius's treatise on warfare, and of Geoffrey of Monmouth (to be published in November 2007); articles on textual and interpretative problems in Greek and Latin literature, on many Latin manuscripts, and on the history and logic of genealogical classification in various fields of study (manuscripts, languages, species, folk tales). Currently working on the transmission of Pliny's Natural history.
