Mentored by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, German baritone Benjamin Appl has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Akedemie für Alte Musik Berlin and the Staatskapelle Berlin. He was awarded the Audience Prize at Thomas Quasthoff's Das Lied Competition and has given recitals at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago and at St John's, Smith Square for Graham Johnson's Young Songmakers' Almanac.

A regular guest at the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, La Scala Milan and the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Matthew Rose is also an acclaimed recitalist, performing at the Wigmore Hall and Amsterdam Concertgebouw. His discography encompasses work with the world's finest orchestras on labels including Sony, Virgin and EMI and with such conductors as Sir Colin Davis, Antonio Pappano, Richard Hickox, Sir Mark Elder, Daniel Harding, Christopher Hogwood and Sir Charles Mackerras.

Joseph Middleton - piano
Pembroke College's resident musician Joseph Middleton is one of the UK's leading young accompanists. He appears regularly at the Wigmore Hall and in broadcasts for BBC Radio 3. Recent concerts have taken him to the Aix-en-Provence, Aldeburgh, Brighton, Edinburgh, Ravinia Chicago and Toronto Festivals. He has recorded CDs with Dame Felicity Lott and Amanda Roocroft and has given recitals with Sir Thomas Allen, Ann Murray, Joan Rodgers, Christopher Maltman and Mark Padmore amongst others.
