Dr Sam Barrett is the Director of College Music. He directs the Chapel Choir and has oversight of college music in general. Dr Barrett is a University Lecturer in Music, specializing in early medieval music and jazz. He was an Organ Scholar at Merton College, Oxford (1992-5) and a choral volunteer at Clare College, Cambridge (1995-8). He has since recorded several times as a baritone soloist, worked as an organist and choirmaster within Cambridge, and performed as a jazz trumpeter and pianist whenever possible.

Joseph Middleton is the College Musician at Pembroke. He assists Dr Barrett and the PCMS in the furthering of musical activities within the college. Joseph is a professional pianist, specializing in chamber music. He graduated from the University of Birmingham with an Mphil in Performance Practice and the Royal Academy of Music with the prestigious DipRAM. He has been broadcast by the BBC and has performed at the Aldeburgh, Cheltenham, Norwich and Norfolk, and Three Choirs Festivals. Recent highlights include recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Royal Opera House and the South Bank Centre (PR, RFH).
