Dr Flavia Mancini
Dr Flavia Mancini is an Assistant Professor in Innovative Computational Methods and MRC Career Development Award fellow in the Department of Engineering, Division of Information Engineering. Her interdisciplinary research group, the Nox Lab, investigates the neural and computational processes involved in body homeostasis and defence from physical harm, from autonomous control to high-order decision making. The Nox Lab develops and uses a mix of computational methods and neural imaging techniques. This work has broad implications for clinical neuroscience and psychiatry. Some of this research is specifically relevant to chronic pain, which affects 1 in 5 people and is the leading cause of disability in the world.
