Research Interests:

Dr Burt works on late medieval political and social history, specialising in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. She is particularly interested in the representation and practical implementation of royal authority and governmental policy within England. She has written a number of articles on English governance during the period, as well as a monograph on Edward I (1272-1307), published by Cambridge University Press. Dr Burt is currently working on another monograph on the history of England in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
