These are moderately small rooms in hostels which offer the essential facilities of bed, desk, chair, storage space, access to shared bathroom and kitchen facilities, and a regular housekeeping service.
Panton Street hostels are situated close to the University Botanical Gardens and are a five to ten minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road). There are a number of student residences on this street, all with gardens. Pembroke and King’s Colleges and the central shopping area are all within easy walking distance. All rooms are for single occupancy with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.
Spalding Hostel lies in the heart of the city centre, close to the market square, the Cambridge Arts Theatre, shops and restaurants. It is just a few minutes’ walk from King’s College, five to ten minutes from Pembroke and about fifteen minutes from the lecture venue. The hostel has its own television/common room. Very close to the train station, the Bateman Street houses, are on a very quiet location, just a few minutes walk from Cambridge University Botanic Gardens. Accommodation is in single rooms with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.
