2017 Accommodation Band 2

Most band 2 rooms are medium-sized rooms in hostels although a limited number of our smaller rooms within the colleges are also graded band 2. All rooms contain a bed, desk, chair, storage space and access to shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. A regular housekeeping service is provided.

 

Pembroke College

 

Pembroke College rooms are situated around Pembroke courtyards and gardens. All rooms are for single occupancy and share bathroom facilities. Simple cooking facilities are available in the shared kitchen areas (known as “gyp rooms”). Rooms in Pembroke College are a five to ten minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road) and just five minutes from King’s College and the city centre shops and restaurants.

 

Pembroke’s houses on Fitzwilliam Street are conveniently located very close to Pembroke and King’s Colleges and a five to ten minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road).  The renowned Fitzwilliam Museum is just across the road and the shopping centre is easily accessible.  These 19th century houses have backyard patios.  All rooms are for single occupancy with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.

 

 

Pembroke’s Trumpington Street hostel is very conveniently located less than a five minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road) and only five to ten minutes away from Pembroke and King’s Colleges and a short walk from the shopping centre.  It is opposite the beautiful Fitzwilliam Museum.  Accommodation is in single rooms with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.

 

 

Lensfield

Pembroke’s houses on Lensfield Road are only a short five minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road) and a ten to fifteen minute walk from Pembroke and King’s Colleges.  They are close to a number of popular pubs and restaurants and Cambridge’s central shopping area is nearby.  These hostels have undergone some refurbishment in recent months.  All rooms are for single occupancy with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.

 

 

Botolph Lane

 

The houses on Botolph Lane are but a very short walk from Pembroke and a five to ten minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road) and just five minutes from King’s College and the city centre shops and restaurants. Accommodation is in single rooms with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.

 

 

Bateman resized

Very close to the train station, the Bateman Street houses, are on a very quiet location, just a few minutes walk from Cambridge University Botanic Gardens.  Accommodation is in single rooms with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.

 

 

PantonPanton Street hostels are situated close to the University Botanical Gardens and are a five to ten minute walk from the main lecture venue (the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Road). There are a number of student residences on this street, all with gardens. Pembroke and King’s Colleges and the central shopping area are all within easy walking distance. All rooms are for single occupancy with shared bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.

 

 

Spalding

 

Spalding Hostel lies in the heart of the city centre, close to the market square, the Cambridge Arts Theatre, shops and restaurants. It is just across the street from King’s College, five to ten minutes from Pembroke and about fifteen minutes from the lecture venue. The hostel has its own television/common room. These are moderately small rooms which offer the essential facilities of bed, desk, chair, storage space, access to shared bathroom and kitchen facilities, and a regular housekeeping service.

 

Webbs Court

Webb’s Court: These are small rooms within King’s College. They may contain less furniture than the bigger rooms, but they will still have the basic furniture needed for your stay. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with other students. There is a regular housekeeping service.

There is one small room in Bodley’s Court within King’s College. It may contain less furniture than the bigger rooms but it’ll still have the basic furniture needed for your stay. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with other students. There is a regular housekeeping service.
