Creative Writing in Cambridge
The Pembroke College-National Academy of Writing Summer Programme
Applications for the 2015 Creative Writing Summer Programme are now closed
27 July – 21 August 2015
In collaboration with the National Academy of Writing, Pembroke offers a unique opportunity for those with a commitment to developing their writing to meet and work with leading practitioners, over four intense weeks, in the delightful setting of one of Cambridge’s oldest and most forward-looking Colleges.
Led by the National Academy of Writing’s Director Richard Beard and the award-winning novelist Kerry Hudson, the programme will explore aspects of effective narrative writing, from the generation of ideas to methodologies for editing. It is designed for those with at least some, and possibly quite an extensive, background in creative writing who are looking for inspiration from a course which is above all about the practice and art of writing.

The National Academy of Writing is delighted to be working with Pembroke College to design and deliver a Creative Writing course that involves so many distinguished practitioners. The aim of the course is to provide a rigorous and wide-ranging approach to ways in which writers can improve their craft, with the expertise of the Academy applied within the wonderful Pembroke setting. I’m confident that no other summer course offers such a winning combination. Richard Beard
