Please note that the Pembroke-King’s Programme (PKP) does not provide any sort of insurance, other than Third Party Liability insurance. Students must acquire their own personal international insurance before departure.
Unless you are from a European Economic Area country (the EU, Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein) or Switzerland and have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) you are not entitled to free medical care in the UK.
Students coming to Cambridge from outside the United Kingdom should bear in mind that only emergency medical treatment is free of charge. Since the costs of repatriation after a serious accident are not covered by National Health Service (NHS) funding, and since most non-emergency medical treatment will not be covered under the NHS, students must already have or take out insurance to cover all travel and medical expenses internationally.
