Daily activities

Programme Assistants (PAs) organise highly popular daily activities, and over the summer there are many evening trips to London especially. In 2010 students attended the famous Proms, orchestral classical music concerts held at the amazing Royal Albert Hall, and other enjoyable outings included going to musicals, such as Phantom of the Opera, in the West End, London’s world-renowned theatre district.

In Cambridge itself, the annual Cambridge Shakespeare Festival offers the chance to watch open-air Shakespeare plays in the beautiful grounds of various colleges.

Students also climb on to the rooftop of the world-famous King’s College chapel to see spectacular views of the entire city, a rare privilege only granted to students at King's College.

Throughout the programme weekly Afternoon Teas are held in the historic Thomas Gray Room at Pembroke College, with tea, sandwiches and scones with butter, jam and clotted cream being served. These enormously popular events provide students with the opportunity to chat informally with lecturers, programme staff and fellow students, while sampling the delights of this peculiarly English tradition.
