Visa information
The 'Student Visitor' route allows non-European Economic Area (EEA) nationals to come to the UK to undertake a short course of study that does not exceed six months.
Students attending any of Pembroke College’s vacation programmes or the Semester Abroad Scheme may be eligible to enter as a Student Visitor.
Student Visitors
Certain nationalities, known as visa nationals, need to obtain a visa before travelling to the UK.
Non-EEA nationals can check whether they require a visa by using the 'Do I need a UK visa?' questionnaire on the Visa Services website.
Information about the application process and the documents needed to accompany the application are
available on the UK Border Agency website Student Visitor pages.
Student Visitors who find that they do not require a visa must still carry their letter of acceptance from Pembroke College on their journey to the UK.
Conditions of entry
This route of entry requires that certain conditions are fulfilled. Visitors:
- must be 18 or over
- cannot take employment in the UK (including part-time or full-time vacation employment)
- cannot undertake a work placement/internship (paid/unpaid) as part of the course of study
- cannot extend their stay in the UK
- cannot draw on public funds and so must be able to demonstrate support and funds to pay for any course costs, accommodation, and flights home
