Graduation

Candidates, other than BAs, who are suitably qualified by examination, residence and having discharged their College accounts may be admitted to their degrees at any Congregation of the Regent House. The dates for 2011-12 are 22 October 2011, 26 November 2011, 21 January 2012, 18 February 2012 (in absence only), 24 March 2012 (MA congregation), 28 April 2012, 19 May 2012, 21 July 2012 (exact times are known less than one week before each congregation, and graduands will be notified by the College).

General Admission to LL.M., M.Eng., M.Sci., Vet M.B., Mus. B., B.A.., B.Ed., and B.Th. degrees will take place on Thursday 28 June 2012. See an outline for the day.

Graduands may be admitted to their degrees either in person or in absence. If you would like to proceed then please complete, in either case, a written request which must be submitted to the Praelector at least two weeks before the intended Congregation.

Once your request has been received by the Praelector then you will receive confirmation of the date and details of the graduation. It should not be assumed that simply asking to graduate will secure a place; written confirmation is necessary.

Graduation at Cambridge has proceeded relatively unchanged for several hundred years, and there are various rules and regulations concerning the dress code. Specific rules apply for 'General Admission', where undergraduates receive their first degree, and there are also notes from the Proctors for the guidance of graduands.
