Bosson bags bronze

Ed Bosson coxed the GB men’s 8 to a podium place at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival on Sunday, behind Australia (SA) and New Zealand.

Competing on Penrith Lake, the rowing venue at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, GB finished in 6:01.25, just over five seconds behind the winning boat.

This was the sixth edition of the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, the biggest to date, providing 1700 athletes from 30 nations with an invaluable Olympic-like experience. Second year Natural Sciences student Ed stepped back from trialling for the Blue boat this year, in order to concentrate on the trip to Australia and his studies.
