Professor Andrew Karolyi joins Pembroke

Andrew Karolyi has been appointed Pembroke Visiting Professor of International Finance for Lent Term.

Professor Karolyi works in the area of investment management with a specialisation in the study of international financial markets. He is currently Professor of Finance at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University and is Faculty Co-Director of Emerging Markets Institute. He is also associate editor of a variety of academic journals and has published a number of papers, several books and some monographs.

After taking his undergraduate degree in economics from McGill University he then worked for several years in the Research Department of the Bank of Canada. Professor Karolyi subsequently studied for his M.B.A and Ph.D. degrees in Finance at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago. He joined the Johnson School of Management after spending 19 years working at the Fisher College of Business of The Ohio State University.
