Romano Prodi to speak at Pembroke

ProdiPembroke is pleased to announce that Romano Prodi, former President of the European Commission and twice Prime Minister of Italy, will deliver the 2017 Keith Sykes Lecture in Italian Studies.

Mr Prodi, in conversation with the Master of Pembroke, Lord Smith of Finsbury, and Professor Christopher Hill, emeritus Professor of International Relations, will talk on the topic, ‘The Future of Europe’.

We are also delighted to welcome HE Pasquale Terracciano, the Italian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, to Pembroke.

The lecture will take place in Pembroke College’s Old Library at midday on Monday 19 June. It is a ticket only event and has now sold out.

Mr Prodi served as Prime Minister of Italy in 1996-1998 and 2006-2008 and as President of the European Commission from 1999 to 2004.
