Research: History of medicine, astrology, alchemy and magic in early modern England. Currently working on two major projects – firstly, a book on magical ideas and practices in early modern England, provisionally titled “The Sons of Minerva” and contracted with Yale University Press and, secondly, The Casebooks Project, which, in partnership with the Bodleian Library, will provide an on-line edition, database, and digital archive of Simon Forman’s and Richard Napier’s astrological casebooks, 1596- 1634. Teaching: History of medicine, history of science, social history, history of the book. Publications: Medicine and Magic in Elizabethan London: Simon Forman, Astrologer, Alchemist and Physician and several articles.
