Pembroke College Cambridge

Affiliated Students

If you have a full Honours degree from another university, you can join an undergraduate course at Cambridge as an affiliated student.

Affiliated students normally enter the second year of the Tripos and can complete the BA degree in two years. You’ll need to have an appropriate academic background to enable you to go straight into the second year of a demanding course.

At Pembroke we have no quota for affiliated students, but competition for entry is high. Applicants normally need a First Class or high 2:1 Honours degree, or equivalent.

There is not a lot of financial aid available for affiliated students, but outstanding candidates who are not British citizens or UK residents can apply to the Gates Scholarship Trust for support.

How to apply as an affiliated student

The application process for affiliated students is the same as for standard entry students. You can find full details online; some important dates are included below:

  • Apply online through UCAS by 16 October of the year preceding that in which you wish to start.
  • Complete the My Cambridge Application by 23 October

Which courses can I take?

Affiliated students can study most undergraduate courses at Pembrokeexcept for Architecture, Law, Veterinary Medicine and Medicine.
