Professor Alan Tunnacliffe

Professor Tunnacliffe was admitted to his Fellowship in 1998 and was elected as an Emeritus Fellow on his retirement in 2014 from the post of Professor of Molecular Biotechnology within the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. At Pembroke, he was a Director of Studies for Biological Sciences and supervised NST1A Biology of Cells for many years. His research work covered topics such as horizontal gene transfer, anhydrobiosis and the function of disordered proteins. From 2015 to 2020 he was Co-Chair of the Cambridge Infinitus Research Centre. Currently, he runs an academic manuscript editing business (www.cambridgeacademicmanuscripts.com).
