Professor Michael Reeve

Michael Reeve is a classicist and professor emeritus. One of the foremost textual scholars of his generation, he has published widely on the transmission of Latin and Greek texts.  He attended Balliol College, Oxford, and in 1966 was appointed a lecturer at Oxford and made a fellow of Exeter College. In 1984 he moved to Cambridge on appointment as the eighth Kennedy Professor of Latin and was admitted to his fellowship; in that year he was also elected a Fellow of the British Academy.  He is a foreign member of academies in Göttingen (1990), Milan (1993 the Istituto Lombardo, 2014 the Accademia Ambrosiana), and Rome (2017 the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, 2022 the Accademia dell'Arcadia).
