19th Nihon Affiliated High Schools Easter Programme

We recently warmly welcomed 73 students from Japanese high schools affiliated with Nihon University and 4 accompanying staff members on the 19th Nihon Affiliated High Schools Easter Programme at Pembroke College.

It is always a pleasure for the International Programmes Department to host the students and accompanying staff, who this year came from 24 different high schools all across Japan.

As part of the programme, our students have taken part in a range of academic and cultural experiences, attending daily English language classes and activities organised by our programme assistants (PAs). From Cambridge staples such as punting, cream teas and visiting Colleges our students have experienced many of the benefits our wonderful city and Pembroke has to offer.

As they eagerly settled into classes, our students also experienced their first formal hall at which the Programme Director, Dr Anna Kibort, said: “I wish to extend my warm welcome to the participants of this programme who have excelled in their studies and who have come to Cambridge, to Pembroke College, to improve their English language skills, to learn about and experience British and Western culture and to broaden their minds.”

We hope they cherish the memories and friendships made during their time at Pembroke
