Applications are invited from Pembroke undergraduates in their first, second or penultimate year of study* for an internship based at Konan elementary school, near Kobe, in the Kansai area of Japan in the summer 2017.
The successful candidates will participate in a two-week teaching internship at Konan School from 25 June to 7 July 2017 inclusive and will then have the opportunity to use a £500 award for the purposes of independent travelling within Japan (NB normal conditions pertaining to College travel scholarships will apply to this award). The terms of the internship provide for all travel and accommodation costs relating to the internship, including a return flight to the Kansai area.
How to Apply
- Please submit a CV and short statement (no more than one side of A4)
- The short statement should outline what you could contribute to the internship and how you intend to use the travel scholarship
- Applications should be sent to Mr Anthony Wheeler with the subject line 'Konan Internship Application'
The key selection criteria will be an interest in and experience working with children and an interest in Japanese culture.
Applications for 2018 are now closed.
*NB The timing of this internship makes it unsuitable for those undergraduates intending to graduate in 2017.
