Takeshi Peter Itoh

Takeshi Peter Itoh is Executive Advisor at Aozora Securities based in Tokyo. He advises the firm’s clients on global portfolio management. He publishes a bi-weekly market report opining on global socio, economic and capital market developments, subscribed widely by institutions and private investors. In 2015 he published a primer on portfolio investing catering to novice investors, and since has been a regular contributor of articles in internet news and publications. Japan is world’s third largest capitalist country, yet only a little over 10% of personal financial wealth is invested in stocks and investment funds.

Peter graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge (1968) in Economics, following the footsteps of his father, a rare example of two generations of Japanese to attend Pembroke College. After graduation he began his career on Wall Street, becoming an equity analyst with Drexel Burnham. His career, since, has spanned various aspects of investment banking with Credit Suisse (formerly First Boston), Citibank (formally Smith Barney) and UBS in New York and Tokyo.

Peter serves as a board director of Azbil Corporation, a major building control and automation company. He has been a longstanding Executive Committee Member and Treasurer of AIMA Japan Chapter.
