Accommodation Band 2
Most band 2 rooms are single-occupancy, medium-sized rooms in off-site College accommodation know as 'hostels'. There's also a limited number of smaller on-site rooms in Pembroke College that are graded band 2.
All rooms contain a bed, desk, chair and storage space. You'll have access to a shared bathroom and shared kitchen facilities.
There's also a regular housekeeping service and the cleaners, known as 'bedders', will clean your room weekly and communal areas daily.
These rooms are located around Pembroke's historic courtyards and beautiful gardens.
Pembroke is a five to ten minute walk from the main lecture venue at the Department of Engineering and just five minutes from King's College and the main city centre.
These 19th century houses have backyard patios and are located in between Pembroke College and King's College and the main lecture venue, the Department of Engineering.
The renowned Fitzwilliam Museum is just across the road and the city centre is easily accessible. Fun fact: Charles Darwin once lived on the site of one of the Fitzwilliam Street houses!
The Trumpington Street hostel is conveninently located less than a five minute walk from the main lecture venue at the Department of Engineering. It's a short walk to Pembroke and King's Colleges as well as the city centre, plus the Fitzwilliam Museum is just across the road.
Pembroke’s houses on Lensfield Road are only a five minute walk from the main lecture venue at the Department of Engineering and a ten to fifteen minute walk from Pembroke and King’s Colleges.
They are close to a number of popular restaurants and Cambridge’s central shopping area is nearby.
Houses on Bateman Street are ideally located near to the train station, but are still in a quiet location. They're also just a few minutes walk from the University Botanic Gardens.
They're around a 10-15 minute walk to the main lecture venue.
