CUSU Shadowing Scheme

Each year, the University runs a shadowing scheme for state-educated Year 12 students (S5 in Scotland, Year 13 in Northern Ireland) in order to provide prospective applicants with an insight in to what it's like to be a Cambridge student. This is particularly aimed at those who have reservations about applying to Cambridge, or have little family experience of university and are on track to achieve A*AA at A level (or equivalent). Successful applicants get the opportunity to:

  • Stay in one of the Colleges that make up the university for two nights (Thursday-Saturday)
  • 'Shadow' a current undergraduate studying a subject they are considering applying for
  • Accompany current undergraduate students to lectures, classes, and supervisions (small group teaching)
  • Take part in social activities (if they wish)
