Our conditional offer is at least A*AA for arts and social sciences (including PBS) and at least A*A*A/A*A*AA for science courses (excluding PBS).
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Our typical offer is 40-42 points overall (including bonus points), with 7,7,6 or 7,7,7 at Higher Level.
We normally require students to have sat Higher Levels and three Advanced Higher subjects.
At Higher Level we require AAAA or better. We normally ask for three A grades at Advanced Higher, sometimes specifying bands.
It may be possible to accept a student with only two Advanced Higher subjects and an additional Higher Level subject in cases where a student is unable to get access to three Advanced Higher subjects in school. This would depend on the exact circumstances and the course applied for, and if you are in this situation, we would advise you to get in touch with us for advice before applying.
Some Scottish candidates will be under the age of 18 at the point they will be starting university (matriculation). It should be made clear that these candidates can make an application to Pembroke College. Our policy is to assess candidates who will be under 18 at matriculation on a case-by-case basis for their suitability to study and live in an adult environment.
We welcome applications from students who are either studying towards the full Cambridge Pre-U Diploma or certain Principal Subjects within the qualification alongside A-levels. Conditional offers will be set on an individual basis but are likely to be in the region of D2, D2, D3.
Irish Leaving Certificate
Typical offers for applicants taking the Irish Leaving Certificate would be based on A1/H1 in three relevant subjects at Higher Level. Applicants for Medicine and Veterinary Medicine may be asked to take an IGCSE (or equivalent) in the science subject not taken within the Irish Leaving Certificate.
Our typical offer is 16 or 17 out of 20 (mention très bien), with some scores specified in individual subjects.
Other Examination Systems
STEP Candidates offered a place for Mathematics, Mathematics with Physics, or Computer Science with Mathematics will normally be asked for specific grades in STEP II and III.
