Dr Himanshu Shekhar

Originally from India, Dr. Himanshu Shekhar is a Research Scientist in the field of Photonics and Optoelectronics. After completing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Technion Institute, Israel, Dr. Himanshu worked in the Cambridge Graphene Centre (CGC) at the University of Cambridge as a Research Associate in the group of Prof. Andrea Ferrari. During his Ph.D., Dr. Himanshu developed high-quality organic photodetectors and their integration with CMOS as a hybrid imager. In CGC, he expanded his research interest where he worked on the design, fabrication, characterization, and integration of photonics and optoelectronic components such as photodetectors, image sensors, modulators, etc., using advanced quantum materials such as graphene and other layered materials.

Dr. Himanshu Shekhar is currently working in Nu Quantum, a spin-off company started from the Cavendish lab at the University of Cambridge, as a device scientist. He is part of quantum technology based projects such as quantum communication and quantum computing, and networking.
