CATERING ASSISTANT - CASUAL

£8.88 per hour

Monday to Friday Evenings - 6pm to 10pm

We require a dedicated, flexible and hardworking individual to join our catering team. Familiarity with a fast-moving environment would be an advantage as would knowledge of all aspects of food service including formal events.  Applicants should be customer focused and smart in appearance.  The role involves catering for students, College guests, Fellows and special functions.

Able to work in a team you will have a professional attitude and take great pride in your work.

ACADEMIC VACANCIES

FIXED TERM COLLEGE TEACHING OFFICER IN HISTORY

Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Officer in History, to provide replacement cover teaching during Dr Caroline Burt’s research leave, which is funded by the Isaac Newton Trust. The appointment will be for twelve months from 1 October 2019, and will carry daily dining rights. The successful candidate will be expected to provide twelve hours per week of undergraduate supervision and classes for the College, in any one (or preferably two) current Part I papers, and by organising and leading the College’s teaching for Historical Argument and Practice.  S/he will also be expected to share in the direction of studies and to assist in the selection of undergraduates during the admissions round in December 2019.  We expect the successful candidate to bring the benefits of a strongly developing research profile to their teaching. The stipend, which is pensionable, will be in accordance with the scale for a Research Fellowship, currently £26,243 p.a.

FIXED TERM COLLEGE TEACHING OFFICER IN SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY  

Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Officer in Social Anthropology, to provide replacement cover teaching during Dr Hildegard Diemberger’s research leave, which is funded by the Isaac Newton Trust. The appointment will be for twelve months from 1 October 2019, and will carry daily dining rights. The successful candidate will be expected to provide twelve hours per week of undergraduate supervision for the College in the HSPS Part I SAN1 paper and any of the Part II Social Anthropology papers.  S/he will also be expected to take on the HSPS direction of studies (with the assistance of the Senior Tutor and other Pembroke Fellows specialising the social and political sciences) and to assist in the selection of HSPS undergraduates during the admissions round in December 2019.  We expect the successful candidate to bring the benefits of a strongly developing research profile to their teaching.
