DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
USS. 37 -  £28,661

Pembroke College is seeking to appoint an energetic and talented fundraiser to join its Development Office at a very exciting time. The main components of this job include implementing a young alumni engagement programme, managing the Reunion Giving programme, gift solicitations via phone, face-to-face fundraising and research.

Founded in 1347, Pembroke College is a lively and friendly community, catering for approximately 80 academic staff and 750 undergraduate and graduate students. The College recently launched its most ambitious capital campaign yet to raise £75 million. Pembroke’s Development Office is the longest established professional development operation in Cambridge. It provides circa 25% of the College’s annual operating income and it is the only office to have a Corporate Partnership Programme. The successful candidate would be joining a highly skilled, diverse team of 12 specialist development professionals who address all aspects of alumni relations, individual and corporate fundraising.

The Development Office is looking for someone who is keen to pursue a career in development and is therefore looking to build their track record in the field by widening the scope and breadth of their knowledge and expertise. This post should already have 2 years of fundraising experience and suits individuals who thrive when they are busy and who are able to multi-task big projects. The post-holder will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, outstanding planning and organisational abilities and be able to prioritise a wide range of responsibilities. Enthusiasm for working both collaboratively and independently is a must. Face-to-face and/or telephone fundraising experience will be an advantage. Candidates should have a strong belief in the value of higher education.

PA to the Master

USS .43 - £34,188

Pembroke College seeks to appoint a PA to the Master. The post-holder should enjoy working in a dynamic environment where they will be expected to display considerable initiative and enthusiasm. Working closely with the Master and Fellowship of the College, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and have the ability to work calmly under pressure.  They will also have outstanding organisational and time management skills, excellent secretarial and administrative skills and have some experience of working with and co-ordinating plans alongside multiple departments.  A tolerant, positive and mature outlook is necessary.

We require a dedicated, flexible and hardworking individual to join our catering team. Familiarity with a fast-moving environment would be an advantage as would knowledge of all aspects of food service including formal events.  Applicants should be customer focused and smart in appearance.  The role involves catering for students, College guests, Fellows and special functions.

Able to work in a team you will have a professional attitude and take great pride in your work.

Software Development Team Lead

£37,345 (USS.46) - £40,793 (USS.49) depending on experience and qualifications, plus an attractive benefits package.

Founded in 1347, Pembroke College, Cambridge has an excellent academic and research record. The College is a lively and friendly community, catering for approximately 70 academics, 190 staff and 650 undergraduate and graduate students.

This post will have responsibility for the supervision of the Development Team, supporting the adoption of agile principles within the IT Department. The Development Team comprises 2 other members of staff.  The post holder will be required to provide broad technical input in this hands-on role. You will work closely with the Development Team as well as the rest of the IT department to identify opportunities to develop and implement enhancements to the infrastructures and services supporting the college’s activities.

Whilst strong experience of software development is required in this role another important aspect will be the ability to lead the Development Team, support and critique projects as well as capable of setting and achieving challenging targets.

The post holder will work closely with the Director of IT supporting the strategic work of the department.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated and entrepreneurial and will have a proven track record of success.
