Dr Lucy Foster

Lucy Foster is an Academic Associate in Spanish. Specialising in twentieth and twenty-first century Mexican art and literature, her recent research has focused on representations of coastal areas and communities in relation to histories of conquest, slavery and vulnerable ecosystems. Lucy completed her undergraduate degree and Masters in English at Christ Church, Oxford, after which she worked in Mexico and London in fiction publishing and translation. Her doctoral research was based in the Spanish and Portuguese Section at Cambridge, MMLL, with placements in Mexico, including at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She has been Affiliated Lecturer in Cambridge’s Department of MMLL and Bye-Fellow and Director of Studies in Spanish and Portuguese at Christ’s College. She is currently working on converging Land Art and Place Writing practices in the UK and Mexico.
