Mr Andrew May

Andrew May is the Anatomy Supervisor for the College. The 1st year Medics do FAB, Functional Architecture of the Body, which is what Cambridge call Anatomy, to be different from Oxford; this covers the Upper and Lower limbs, a bit of the Neck, the Thorax and Abdomen and Pelvis. In the 2nd year the Medics do Head and Neck Anatomy, HNA, and are examined on this at the end of the Lent Term. Mr May has been doing this since 2010, after he was asked to join the College by the then Master, Richard Dearlove, with whom he was at School.

Mr May was a General and Vascular Surgeon in Colchester from 1982 until he retired from full time work in 2007 having trained at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and other Hospitals in Wessex, London and Boston, Massachusetts. After he retired he continued with part time work and was Medical Director of Colchester Hospital and latterly a Governor of the Trust. Mr May was in the Territorial Army for 35 years.
