Mr Rupert Brown

Rupert is teacher and teacher trainer in English for Academic Purposes and works in CLIC (Centre for Languages and Inter-Communication) in the Engineering Department. He has spent much of the last 20 years working with postgraduate students on their communication skills, creating and teaching on pre-sessional courses and building supporting online material for the international postgraduate community in the university. 

Rupert has since 2008 also worked with undergraduate students and specialises in the formation and development of their academic and study skills. He has close ties in this regard with several Cambridge colleges and departments and for them runs a wide range of subject-based workshops in essay writing and study skills as well as supervising students on an individual basis. He created the very successful Online Essay Writing Toolkit for Linguistics students for TAL. Rupert is a bye-fellow at Christ’s college.
