The Reverend Sophie Young

Sophie served as the Bishop’s Officer for Homelessness in the Diocese of Ely until December 2022. Day to day she worked alongside those experiencing homelessness in the streets and hostels of Cambridge, and worked in partnership with organisations to improve the city’s services for the homeless community. Alongside this ministry, she held the post of Associate Priest at St.Bene’t’s Church.

Sophie studied Theology for Ministry at Churchill College and Ridley Hall Theological College in Cambridge. Prior to training for ordination, Sophie worked in Human Resource Management for Lloyds Bank following her undergraduate studies at Durham University.  

Sophie is really looking forward to her time at Pembroke.
