Simon Peyton Jones, FRS
Simon Peyton Jones is a Distinguished Affiliate Scholar of the College. He is a computer scientist who studies functional programming languages, and especially Haskell. He is an Engineering Fellow at Epic Games, where he works on the Verse programming language.
Simon is also a founder of Computing at School, the group at the epicentre of the reform of the national curriculum for Computing in England. Computer science is now a foundational subject, alongside maths and natural science, that every child learns from primary school onwards. He is a governor at the local Cambridge school Chesterton Community College.
