Alumni of the Year Award logo

The Development Office is delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural Alumni Awards.

Pembroke’s Alumni Awards have been designed to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of alumni worldwide and showcase the value and impact of a Pembroke education.

In this, our inaugural year, we will have three different award categories:

  • Distinguished Alumni Award – for alumni who have graduated more than 10 years ago, this award recognises and celebrates alumni who have demonstrated sustained outstanding professional achievements, civic leadership or have made a real difference to their field of work or society at large through pioneering or seminal contributions.
  • Emerging Alumni Leader Award – This award is for alumni who graduated within the last ten years and recognises our rising stars and leaders of the future.
  • Alumni Impact Award – This award recognises innovative and creative alumni who can demonstrate commercial success and growth  or positively impact society through their personal and professional, voluntary or charitable activities.

Alumni can be nominated for the above awards for any reason, but you may like to frame your nomination using any of the criteria listed below:

  • Voluntary Work – Recognising alumni whose outstanding voluntary work has made a positive impact regionally, nationally or internationally through community work, fundraising or volunteering.
  • Public Service - Recognising alumni who have made an extraordinary contribution through their role as a public-sector or private-sector employee whilst providing an essential service.
  • Contribution to culture - Recognising alumni who have made a considerable contribution to the local, national or international cultural community.
  • Entrepreneurship - Recognising alumni who have made a transformative contribution to the local, national or international community through an enterprising business venture.
  • Commitment to Sustainability - Recognising alumni whose innovative work, projects or actions have made a significant impact on addressing sustainability challenges.

Nominations can be made by any member of the University's or College’s academic or support staff, current students of Pembroke College, fellow alumni, or by the nominee themselves.
Nominations should be made via our online nomination formApplications will be considered by a panel of judges with the winner announced at the London Dinner. Only one submission is required per candidate for consideration. The judges decision is final and will be based on quality rather than the volume of the nominations for a particular candidate.

Pembroke’s Alumni Awards will complement our existing Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award, awarded for the first time in 2022.
